Sagging Pants

I think how you dress depends in what society you live in.
If you live in a high class society, expect to see polos, khakis, brands, etc etc.
But if you live in an urban area, expect to see underwear.

I completely agree with sagging pants to be against the law. how can you expect someone to take you seriously if your exposing your underwear to them. How can you go expect to get a job, none the less look presentable, by letting everyone know what color underwear you decided to wear today.

I believe the government has all the power to enforce this in schools. They give us free education. Is it that big of a deal to wear uniform. I rather look like the military, than to stare at the girl with the white see through pants, with red g string popping out. And then out of no where class ended and i'm completely fucked for the test next class. If we all look the same, theres no distractions. Sure theres the " i need to be an individual" bullshit, but hey once its 2:30 go be whoever the fuck you want to be. You're in school to learn, not to be yourself.

If parents complained about their children dressing like skanks and gangsters, aka delinqueints and sluts, why should they be complaining when the school board is trying to make their children look presentable. If you don't want your child to look presentable and just tuck in your shirt, then your are a COMPLETE idiot!

The Media

The media these days has a major effect on all on coming generations. From what we see on Television, to even Cartoons. These days child cartoons have strong messages that are making the youth act like irresponsible adults. My own 5 year old sisters, sees woman on television wearing extremely short dresses, and now she is wearing a simple T-shirt as a dress. What is the world coming too. Cartoons are starting to show intimacy, and then we wonder why some elementary students and even middle school students are already sexually active.
Also, music has a great impact on society. Just because you listen to the ghettoest music doesn't mean you have to walk around with your pants hanging down your behind with gold teeth. I believe everyone is an individual and there music shouldn't make them.

Blog #3

What is happening in Haiti and Nicaragua is extremely sad and devastating. Looking at those pictures encouraged me to help. But why isn't anyone "important" doing anything. Why isn't our country there, we try to be the big shots and still don't do anything. If it takes years for us to restore our own land from hurricane damage, we will probably be able to offer aid to foreign lands by the time my children reach puberty.
When I went to the Dominican Republic, the first thing that was said to me when I walked out the airport was: " Can I was your shoes?", by a little boy, at first I was shocked, by the pictures of my hotel, I expected the DR to be a very luxurious place. When I went for a tour of the island I became amazed of how different my hotel was to the native homes.
I am going to make a difference. I signed up with FIU to be apart of Alternative Break, which basically is, instead of going to Cancun for spring break, I'll be helping people who need my help anywhere in the world.

Religion and Politics

I think there are many reason why you don't speak about politics with your family.

Its either
You were brainwashed growing up, and have basically have the mine set to what ever was spoken in your house and are completely stubborn and don't think for yourself

or

You are open minded, and most of the time, the youth tends to rebel towards what your elders have to say, so if its your family, its obviously going to be controversial.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but some people dont seem to understand that opinions are that alone, just opinions, thoughts, words, NOT facts. Some people are offended by opinions, which causes arguments. Everyone should think for themselves rather than just believing what your parents, friends, spouse believes. That the best thing one has, their own train of thought, your own voice, own opinion. Its a sad thing to waste.

I personally think opinions are formed by personal experiences. until something happens to you, you really can't say what you would do. for example, if my girlfriend were to get pregnant, more than likely i would recommend she have an abortion, just because hey, im 18, i can barely keep my room clean, do you honestly think im ready to be a father? NO. sure its not morally right to play god.

Speaking of abortion, if a girl gets pregnant, i think the mans opinion counts to the slightest extent, because dude you fucked up, BUT its her body not yours. I believe the girl should have the most power in making a decision in either keeping or loosing a baby.

To conclude,
my opinion on opinions?

Blog #1

This is my first time every doing a blog, and to be honest it is quite weird. I am an open person and do express myself freely, but have the ability to express your feelings with a wide range of people over the internet is rather creepy. Especially when its worth a grade for a class. At the same time its rather intimidating to be expressing yourself, when in the back of your head you think of what to say and what not to say; because people are going to read it, and everyone is scared of being judged for their thoughts and opinions. From my perspective, I never hide anything. I always express myself freely and never hold back on my thoughts or opinions. I am a very outspoken person. I rarely care what people have to say about me, but it still does make a slight effect, but this blogging experience will be beneficial in the aspect of letting it all out and holding nothing in.
